The Tiki Moon Villas were a little piece of tropical paradise, with lovely ponds, trees, flowers, and water features all around the property. The children loved the fish and frogs in the pools and were entertained for hours. They have special food so no touching or feeding, but are so fun to watch. There were also a few chickens with chicks and small doves around as well. The beach was lovely and we enjoyed the sunrise over the ocean each morning from the porch of the two front bungalows. The week we stayed was windy and there were waves, but we went swimming and snorkeling. We saw lots of fish and even a sea turtle. We walked about a mile up the beach to Laie Point State Park which offers extraordinary views of the coastline and some small islands. The Villas are just across the street from the Polynesian Cultural Center. We loved visiting and learning about the different islands of the Pacific, but it was a long day for the smallest children and it was nice to be able to take a break and get a snack and a nap when needed. It was wonderful that when the big evening show was over, we were able to walk home in 10 minutes. We went over a few times to enjoy the restaurants and many different food trucks outside the Cultural Center. There is a grocery store (Foodland) and some great food less than a mile away. We loved Seven Brothers, which is a hamburger place, and Angel's Ice Cream, which has amazing shave ice and pineapple soft serve for a very reasonable price. The Tiki Moon Villas is a 20-30 minute drive to the North Shore, Waimea Valley, and other amazing areas. We felt like we were in the perfect location. We were traveling with 6 families: 12 adults, 4 teens, and some small children and we had all five bungalows so there was plenty of space for everyone and we all had our own rooms. There were air conditioners in the bungalows and after a long afternoon, it was delightfully cool. My family was in the Papaya bungalow which had a great kitchen with a gas stove and a large fridge. We prepared several dinners and ate together on the lanai which had lots of folding chairs. The shower always had hot water and the kids were delighted with the outdoor showers attached to many of the bungalows. The beds were comfortable and we had more than enough towels. There were two laundry closets on the property with front load washers and we were able to do wash whenever we needed fresh clothes. Each place has a private patio and we didn't hear much from the other apartments even those with little children. If you only had one bungalow, I imagine you would have some contact with other people, using the washers, on the beach, or in the common areas. The property itself is private with walls and trees on either side. There was parking for 5-6 cars in front of the Villa (one per bungalow) and it was easy to fit all the cars. It is on a busy road so backing out onto the road was occasionally hard, but there was always a break in the traffic before too long. You couldn't hear the cars on the road at all, just the wind in the trees, the waves of the ocean, and the crowing of some roosters from next door. Raymond and Azlina live on the property if you need them. We saw them occasionally and they were friendly and helpful with good advice about activities and places to go. Overall, we had a delightful stay and we would definitely recommend it to anyone who wanted to stay there.
